There are so many maps that they could use for ARAM and even some are already designed to a part, like the Lava Chamber and Butchers Bridge. I wouldn't even expect anyone at Riot to see this post, except maybe by random chance. It really was just an idea i thought i'd throw out there and see if anyone agreed.

It looks to me like they have the materials all there and the concepts all there, so yes, it would be a matter of organizing and maintaining it, which is of course the judgment call Riot would have to make, and apparently already have made. So i only use "easy" as a relative term to my layman's understanding of what goes on from the perspective of a player. I know it would be a lot more work, i didn't intend to make it sound like it would be "easy." Maintaining a game of this size has to be nightmarish sometimes, which is why i try to remember to cut them some slack too. I honestly was not aware Riot had already addressed this. Honey is the most delicious and amazing thing on planet earth. You catch more everything with honey than vinegar. And you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Optimism does seem to be in short supply sometimes. So i just try to frame things positively more often than critically. Criticism - and good and warranted criticism too - isn't in short supply. And i realize people like me can be irritating with the constant suggestions, i just like trying to find ways that could make things work. I just like League and i really like aram and it's just something i choose to spend money on sometimes because i like it. and it's not because i'm rolling in money. I know i'd spend another 10 or 20 bucks if they did something like this for aram. They could hire try to more people? idk i feel like when Riot, when any game company does things with no expectation of a return, any company at all really - any actual person actually, when any person does something with no expectation of a return, it's endearing. Second edit: this is a reply to a hidden comment i typed earlier that i think addresses some things in the replies.

Genuinely curious how many people might be of the perspective that ARAM and Howling Abyss ought to remain mutually exclusive? And in a way it sort of reinforces its more whimsical, just-for-fun identity while maintaining its status as a core game mode. And since they're one lane, they're comparatively easier to design (i hope?)Īnd i think the coolest part about having multiple aram maps is that they could rotate on a timer like Apex maps, or, in my opinion the better option, the game could randomly select a map for each match, thus greatly adding to the randomness aspect of aram. But that would also allow Riot to experiment with different terrain designs to nuance the meta and maybe give champs like talon and bard and zeri some different options to work with.

Noxus and Demacia gotta have a bridge somewhere, right? Or a one-lane road or something? A drawbridge to a castle maybe? idk. But introducing more bridges also gives Riot the opportunity to build more parts of the world into the actual game.

(edit: with new knowledge from comments, flashback to Butcher's Bridge) Or, you know, i figure there HAS to be a bridge somewhere in Bilgewater important enough to warrant staging matches on (staring intensely at you, Ruined King). But who among us would not like to do battle on the bridge between Piltover and Zaun like they graced us with in Arcane?
