The story centers around New York City in the 1950s with all of the glamor that was associated with that era. I just finished the most wonderful book titled Lucia, Lucia by Trigiani. In my opinion it is a good "fairy tale" fantasy novel and I would recommend it to anyone who likes those sorts of novels and doesn't mind reading it off of the monitor. On the whole I liked the novel because the bizarre idea really held my attention, the main character is absorbing, and the writing style is very crisp and efficient. I could be wrong since I did read it at work but I swear theirs a huge time discrepance midway through the novel.

(Disclaimer number 2: I'm not riducling Mr. It's so odd that it captures and holds your attention early on. The novel is wierd and strange but not in an overly imaginative way (like Neil Gaimon) but more of an interesting "what the heck is going?" on kind of way. However, the ending is inexplicable and a major dissapointment. (Disclaimer, Doctorow is anti-copywrite and his views can be seen at and his book can be downloaded on his site at )Īs for the book, it is well written and quite entertaining and enjoyable.

And "I can't read a novel on my monitor so I'm not going to read it." Needless to say I did read it on my monitor, but at work, so its okay.
